Spirit Day

It’s been decided. On October 20th, 2010, we will wear purple in honor of the 6 gay boys who committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes at at their schools. Purple represents Spirit on the LGBTQ flag and that’s exactly what we’d like all of you to have with you: spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who will love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality. Please wear purple on October 20th. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and schools.

REBLOG to spread a message of love, unity and peace.

Writer's Block: Boldly going

Which fictional world would you choose to visit, and why?

I've often traveled to other worlds in my head, some of my own creation, others of the copywrited printed world. If I had to choose between visiting this world, and going to another, I would probably visit Hogwarts. To use magic as J.K.Rowling described would be a lot of fun, especially if I could meet Ron and Hagrid. Or perhaps the world created by Lemony Snicket, a lot like our own, but with a strange foreign twist. Sometimes, especially in my earlier fanfiction/LiveJournal times, I would've loved to see the world of Princeton Placebro Teaching Hospital, or as some know it, the world of [H]OUSE MD. Sometimes, I still wish I could visit the hospital, shake hands and meet the doctors I looked up to for 4 seasons (after that, in my eyes, the show turned to crap.) Nevertheless, I tend to float from place to place, world to world, in my mind. And even after I become I published author, I intend on extend my passport to see new places. Imagination...is limitless.

Writer's Block: Another sleepless night

Do you suffer from occasional or frequent insomnia? Do you have any special tricks or remedies? How does it impact your life?

I suffer from the occassional bout of insomnia. Usually when I am really stressed about something my brain doesn't have an off button. I usually put on some Enya music and curl up under some soft blankets. When that doesn't work I draw or write in my journal. I have a few insomnic friends so I can always call or text to them if I am in need of some company. The next day I feel the effects though. Sunlight puts me to sleep...often in the middle of class.
